Sedbergh is a beautiful historic market town in Yorkshire. Its main high street offers an escape from the normal ‘chain’ stores and restaurants. It’s sandstone buildings, cobbled streets and rolling hills set an atmospheric backdrop for the artisan cafes and independent shops. You can find unique handmade gifts and enjoy cuisine from local farms and suppliers. Sedbergh School was established in 1525 and has boarding houses and beautiful historic buildings across the town.
About Sedbergh – a vast range of activities on the doorstep
The picturesque fells provide a host of walks and cycle routes. Or perhaps even just have an amble down by the river. Killington Lake is a short journey a way and day passes can be bought to launch your own boat, canoe or windsurf. There is also a golf club which is open to all.
Farfield Mill is a short car journey from the main street. It is a restored Victorian woollen mill offering exhibitions, craft demonstrations, workshops, heritage centre and a café. Farfield Mill was “Small Gallery of the Year” Finalist for the Cumbria Life awards!
Farfield Mill is situated on the A684 Garsdale/Hawes Road just one mile east of Sedbergh where there is ample free parking.

About Sedbergh – activities throughout the year…
Sedbergh Gala is held every May. It is a fun day for all the family. The local field becomes a throng of activity for games, races, live music, stalls and fun!
Sheepfest is held annually within Sedbergh (normally September). Individuals, groups and businesses make life size model sheep which are displayed all over the town. You can follow the sheep trail around the town to win a prize!
Sedbergh Sportive is run in association with British Cycling. There are races, mountain biking, food stalls, trade stands, music, bar, film shows and camping.
