As the snowdrops start to poke through patches of green on the way up to our Barn, it is a cheery reminder that we will be welcoming spring soon and lovely warm days and long summer nights (well hopefully, it is the Dales/Lakes after all!!) I’m working with brides at the moment as there seems to be so much interest in our Barn as it is now registered for civil weddings. A lot of people seem to be moving away from the tradition of formal ‘sit down’ weddings and are really looking for something informal and a little bit different! The fact that you can get married outside with panoramic fell views also seems to appeal to most. As well as having no corkage fees, onsite accommodation from £30 per guest and a ‘blank canvas’ for you to theme our Barn, however you choose. Hog roasts, BBQs and afternoon teas also seem to be a more popular choice for catering and at Howgills Barn we offer a large commercial kitchen, enabling you to ‘hire in’ the catering firm of your choice.
Whilst looking through our past weddings, I found this lovely photo of a past wedding party at Howgills Barn which was taken by ‘Your Happy Story’. It is lovely to look back and see everyone enjoying the moment and being together with the bride and groom – Monika and Adrian. This wedding was held back in September 2011 before Howgills Barn was registered for civil ceremonies. It is still possible to hire the Barn for private wedding parties, if a church wedding is preferred.
