Duck herding.jpeg

Duck herding

On- site activity (at Howgills Barn only)

Working in pairs the guests take the ducks from the pen, through a tunnel, through a cross, up and down a slide and back into the pen. One person covers one side of the obstacle and the other person the opposite side.  The guests have to work together and be in the correct place to herd the ducks through the obstacles. A sheepdog will be in the background if help is required to gently move the ducks along or if an obstacle is missed she helps bring back the ducks for another attempt.

It is a light hearted and fun activity. Guests enjoy both taking part and spectating as it can be very amusing to watch particularly if things don’t quite go to plan.

On site activity

Following a short demonstration and safety briefing, participants will receive one-to-one tuition as they shoot their first arrows. Once they are shooting safely and confidently, participants will enjoy a series of practice rounds, before taking part in games and competitions.
