Government guidance is changing on a daily basis and we're very much hoping that we'll be back open by July.
Over the last few months, I've spent a great deal of time talking with our guests. With 3 properties to manage the outbreak of the covid 19 virus has resulted in a multitude of cancellations and (thankfully) reschedulings.
From my many conversations, I have come to understand some of the worries and concerns that you might be feeling about booking a holiday. With this in mind, we have changed and adapted our business, and here are some of the ways that we hope to help you.

£100 is only needed to reserve a break

If you're thinking about booking a holiday this summer (2020) then secure your holiday dates with us with a payment of £100. Once we have confirmation of when we will be able to re-open, we will then be asking for the balance in 2 installments. If we are not able to re-open in time, we will fully refund your £100 or you can reschedule to an alternative date in 2020 or 2021.
We are 'freezing' our 2020 prices for any reservations that have to transfer to 2021 due to covid 19.
We are now offering a 3 part payment plan.
For reservations from 1st September we are asking for a £100 to secure the dates. The first night's fee will be required in 4 weeks time. The final balance will be required 8 weeks before your date of arrival
If you are unable to make your reservation due to a member of your group having covid 19, you can cancel your reservation or reschedule to an alternative date. The only cost incurred in cancelling your reservation with us is £30 fee.
We would ask for a months notice for a cancellation.
You may have some concerns and worries about visiting a new place.
Both our group accommodation properties (Howgills Barn and Howgills House) are located in private land in the countryside. You can hire both properties for your private use so there is little to no risk of meeting anyone else.
Asda delivers to both properties and you can also bring your own catering supplies with you.
Sedbergh is located 15 minutes off junction 37 off M6 so easily accessible by car.
Cleaning, hygiene & disinfection procedures
In light of the recent COVID 19 pandemic we've taken careful consideration of our cleaning & hygiene regimes. As a result of this we'll be implementing the following extra measures in line with current government advice & guidelines to ensure your safety, as far as is reasonably possible, when visiting our holiday properties. These will be updated as and when guidance & advice dictates.
1. Virucidal cleaning products will be used to disinfect all hard surfaces once usual cleaning procedures have taken place. Light switches, door handles, keys etc to be cleaned with virucidal product as staff leaving the building, ready for guest arrival.
2. Staff will be using PPE whilst cleaning the property. All PPE will be safely disposed of before guest arrival.
3. Staff will have received online Infection Control training by a certified training body prior to returning to work.
